Kate brings over a decade of trial experience to Brown Law’s removal defense and humanitarian cases. She honed her litigation skills prosecuting and defending complex criminal cases in the U.S. Army — a background that gives her an instinctive command of evidence, procedure, and strategy that few immigration attorneys can match. That same experience means she knows how to work with clients who have survived trauma, approaching each case with compassion and sensitivity while never losing her edge as an advocate. At Brown Law, she represents clients in removal proceedings and at interviews before USCIS and the Asylum Office, delivering the same relentless preparation and sharp legal instincts she brought to the courtroom.

Kate’s commitment to service runs through everything she does. She served over 20 years in the U.S. Army and U.S. Army Reserve, deployed in support of combat operations in Iraq, and spent years living overseas across multiple countries. That experience gave her a firsthand understanding of what it means to navigate life across cultures and borders — and a deep personal connection to the immigrant families and military veterans she now serves.

Kate lives in Virginia with her husband and two teenagers. In her free time, she loves to travel, bike, and knit.
