As a law clerk, Vanessa who works directly with Brown Law’s clients often preparing their declarations or helping them gather and organize evidence for trial. She also supports the firm’s attorneys through every stage of hearing preparation and case defense. She has developed a deep knowledge of asylum law and brings a level of precision and care to client communication that clients genuinely feel. Fully bilingual in English and Spanish, clients appreciate that Vanessa can explain complex legal concepts in their native language with the clarity and exactness of a foreign-trained attorney.
Vanessa’s foundation in law runs deep and spans multiple countries. Vanessa grew up in Panama City in a family devoted to the law. After earning her law degree there, she joined her parent’s insurance law firm and went on to lead the Civil Litigation Department. After developing substantial courtroom litigation experience in Panama, she pursued law degrees in the United Kingdom and Washington, D.C. That background — spanning three continents and three legal systems — gives her a unique multicultural perspective with a keen legal mind.
Outside the office, Vanessa is a devoted mother, an avid baker, a boxing enthusiast, and a proud Lord of the Rings fan.
